I am so glad to finally feel somewhat normal again! I am starting to feel ambitious and want to get my house in order after this, oh so long, pregnancy.
However, I think I fractured a rib during the ever lasting labor process. After thinking about the stress your body goes through, it seemed like something that may be common or at least heard of. Well, of course not. As with any medical issue I have I always am a "special case". Case and point.. I went to the doctor thinking I could just get some different drugs that would help the pain rather knock my ass out.
Of course my doc is out so I see the mid-wife/nurse or whatever. The lady who takes me back is telling me that she's never heard of such a thing. Finally, after waiting an eternity & agonizing over my rib pain- which standing up makes it hurt worse and sitting down is not really the best option (uh-you know) I finally am seen. After poking all over me she tells me it's a muscular/skeletal problem. Duh!
She prescribes me this stuff and tells me it's an anti-inflamatory and it will work with tylenol. Great! So, I get in the car and tell Jason about it. He proceeds to tell me that it is NOT an anti-inflamatory and your NOT supposed to take it with Tylenol. Uggghhh! It's another drug that's going to knock my ass out! After much deliberating and phone calls from the mid-wife chick (who decides I should see my doctor on monday) I am back to taking Aleve and Tylenol. Great!
Now, I understand that with a fractured rib or something of the sort, there's not a whole hell of a lot that you can do about it. I just want some drugs that won't, again, knock my ass out! I think I might be asking a little too much of the medical community.
So, my question is - have any of you heard of this happening in labor? I would imagine I'm not the first. What do think?
Oh, and a little sneak peak of my new cutie...
