Aaron's Fall party is tomorrow and I made these cute little owls for a craft they will be doing. I plan on having the kids put their hand prints on an 8.5 x 11 horizontal sheet and then adding the owl to the middle so that the hand prints are the wings. I'll let ya know how it turns out. I used the hoot n holler cricut cartridge to cut them all.

I wish I could take credit for this cute little ornament, but I found the idea in this...
I will be doing a little Make-N-Take at the retreat next weekend to teach the basic design. However, the possibilities are endless! I am thinking stars, pow shapes, snowflakes...
Here is the basic how-to...
1. cut out shapes - about 16 total. I did circles first and then tried this fun snowflake shape. (I cut the snowflakes out on the cricut, for the circles you could use a punch) They need to be shapes that are congruent. Mine are about 3" in diameter.
2. Score down the middle of each piece and fold.
Do this to all of them. I used two different patterned paper. You could do them all the same, 3 different or if you had a bunch of scraps - all different. (Just think of all that Basic Grey paper you bought in packs and only used a few sheets. I had a whole box full.)
3. Now start gluing the halves together.
4. Keep gluing one half to the back of the next half. (alternating patterns if you have more than one)
Just be sure that your edges are lining up. There will be a gap in the middle when you are finished.
5. When you get the the last one, glue the two left over sides together to make a complete circle.
6. I ran a ribbon through the center and added buttons to finish it off. I recommend a very small ribbon or even twine. There is a big enough gap to run it down the middle.
**I know the photos are all jacked up, but you get the idea.

So, evidently these birthday canvas' are a big deal over here in Waco.??
I had one of my friends ask for this for her daughter's first birthday party. She wanted it to be something she could use for future birthdays as well. She sent me a couple pictures of some she had seen and knew of some people that did them, however they were very expensive. I thought I would try it. It turned out better than I expected, but now I know why they are expensive!

Here is a few things that have been taking up my time...
(besides these two things)
A sweet girl's first birthday party. I have been thinking of getting into some sort of party planning, so this was an experiment. (I'll have more pictures in another post.)
... a work in progress. "Crayon Topiaries". Don't ask... this was something I thought was going to be fairly easy and let's just say - not so much.
Studio Update! I have changed it again since these pictures, but it's crazy messy.
Tracy's Logo... finally!
Dear Amanda... I haven't forgotten about you!!! It is next on deck! I promise! I told you I wasn't very good with time management. :)
and I took Conner to Disney World.
Whew! It's been a little crazy, as usual! We just finished traveling for two weekends in a row for Easter and I had to ship my kids off to Grammy's house yesterday for some recoup time and to regain some sanity.
Here's to hoping you have a fairly calm week.

Check it out... my new kit (and class) that is only available at Rockin' Reality! Go to the website for details. You can come take the class and have a little step by step help with putting it together. Or, you can just order the kit for yourself.
I just love the green and orange combo! It's great for summer photos. However, you can adapt it to anything you want. It makes a great gift, too (shhh, this one is going to my mom) There are two Dr. Suess quotes on it, burlap (which I love), lots of pop-dots, a hinge clip, a couple different colors of ribbon (so you have a choice) and of course, an assortment of buttons.
The kit features the new 7gypsies antique brown letterblock tray and product from some of my favorite brands; October Afternoon, Little Yellow Bicycle, and Crate Paper. Also included in the kit are some original designs by me, how-to instructions and a page map.
Go to Rockin' Reality website to order yours or sign up for the class! There is a limited number, so hurry!

I am finally getting to Aaron's baby announcements. I ordered the paper and envelopes two months before he was born. They have been sitting on my desk starring at me for quite some time now. Since I got the scrap space all cleaned up, I figured it was about time to get these done!
